Project Managers

The appointment of a Project Manager at an early stage is a fundamental component of our model for successful commercialisation.  We are looking for individuals with appropriate industry and commercial experience, but also with the drive and enthusiasm to take a project from its current state through multiple rounds of seed funding until the point at which the recruitment of a full-time CEO can be justified.  During this time the Project Manager will work closely with the project owners and proposers (such as academic members of staff) as well as the appointed Chairperson and the WestFocus team.

Chairs

At an appropriate point in each project’s development we seek to appoint a Chairperson to oversee the work of the project manager in managing, developing and increasing the value of the project. The role of the Chair is particularly important as projects proceed through multiple rounds of seed funding and during this time the Chair will act as a mentor to the project manager.

The individuals we are seeking are likely to have a track record in successful commercialisation and some industry experience relevant to the project in question.  As far as possible, their industry links and contacts will be harnessed for the benefit of the project and Chairs can expect to be involved with customers and partners as well as investors.

Commercialisation Managers and Core Staff

As the WestFocus operation expands in size and complexity, we will be regularly reviewing our core team resource and may seek individuals with appropriate skills and experience to add to our team.  In addition, Member institutions are often seeking to increase or supplement their commercialisation capability through the recruitment of new staff.
