WestFocus aims to encourage people to start new enterprises, and improve performance in the ones they have already. Enterprises are not only commercial - they may be not for profits or publicly funded.
The Entrepreneurship Centre helps in several ways:
Learning: we focus on learning what's required, and how to do it. We offer high value courses and seminars, including highly expert speakers. Our Learning pages provide a course in entrepreneurship which anyone just starting up may be able to benefit from.
Networking: we provide opportunities to meet and build a support network for your business. Many of the seminars and courses provide this opportunity. You may also want to join one of the WestFocus Knowledge and Business Development Networks and attend their events.
Signposts and referrals: we signpost and provide links to other organisations which may be able to help. Many of these are in the public sector, some are charities which offer mentoring and support for entrepreneurs.
On this website you will find a changing menu of events, courses, awards and competitions and links to other organisations and activities which may be of help. Some of these are offered directly by WestFocus; many take place in and around our Universities.
In addition we can help you access 130,000 talented students currently getting their degrees at the seven WestFocus universities and many thousands of very capable graduates. Many of them are looking for opportunities to work in smaller organisations. Whether it’s a short-term project or a permanent job, with us you can advertise it FREE of charge. If you are not yet sure how a student can make a real difference to your business, we offer a FREE diagnostic service. We will also help you identify funding opportunities, introduce different types of assistance we can offer and advise you about ways of promoting your organisation. Interested? Follow this link.
If you don't see what you need, contact us directly. We may be able to help!
