This project exists to develop and validate of a pack of tools to accurately measure well-being specifically in older people (age of 60+). The project has been assessing the sensitivity and ease of use of a range of well-being measurement tools, for use in active older people, against each other and in relation to an objective biological measure of well-being, the cortisol day profile. For these initial studies, 50+ seniors have been recruited from past and ongoing listening events.
The project aims to generate an appropriate, sensitive and acceptable tool with which to measure well-being specifically in older people. This tool will be valuable to a range of service providers and researchers providing similar initiatives that require evaluation. Active older people involved in these projects and initiatives (and those to follow) will be the indirect end-users benefiting from improved provision of quality services and opportunities derived from evidence-based evaluation.
