WestFocus and ICT

Welcome to the web site of the WestFocus Knowledge and Business Development Network for ICT

In this area you will find several initiatives to communicate and make available practical recent innovations in ICT to a wider audience and, particularly, to enable small-to-medium-sized companies to make the best use of ICT and Web 2.0 technology.

These activities involve researchers from WestFocus universities collaborating and communicating with industry and healthcare providers.

To help form a basis for this work we initially carried out a detailed study into the ways in which small-to-medium-sized companies (SMEs) in the WestFocus region are currently using ICT and how it is meeting or failing to meet their needs. The resulting report describes the Abandoned Heroes who, often against the odds, make ICT work for SMEs. The insights gained have formed the foundation for much of the network’s current work.

The Knowledge Transfer Projects section of this site describes in more detail the ways in which the network may be able to help your company or organisation.

If you are interested in knowing more, or in participating in the network, please contact us.
