  • Read the project details and work out which skills and personal characteristics are particularly important.
  • Provide evidence that you have these skills.
  • Use the covering letter to highlight key points and to say why you are interested in the opportunity.

Eligibility
You must be studying at, or have graduated with the last 12 months from, a WestFocus institution.
You must also be eligible to work in the UK.
 
The 7 WestFocus institutions are:

University of Westminster

Education
Starting most recently, provide details of your higher and further education (or equivalent) to date and qualifications awarded.
 
Employment
Starting most recently, provide details of any relevant employment or voluntary jobs you have held.
 
Skills
This section is the area which employers predominantly focus on to assess whether you are a suitable candidate for placement.
 
Demonstrate your skills by giving further information regarding your education such as relevant courses taken and your academic achievement. Elaborate further regarding the experience you have gained from your previous employment and voluntary work and how these skills will assist you in the UTP scheme. Give evidence of these skills by highlighting your responsibilities and previous successe and refer to specialist skills such as languages you speak and technical skills. 
Remember, sell yourself!
 
Availability
Your availability to work will be compared with the needs of the company to ensure that the placement is scheduled around your academic commitments.
