The WestFocus Knowledge and Business Development Networks were communities of best practice that encouraged the sharing and exploitation of innovation, knowledge and skills over several years. Having achieved the original goals and objectives most of them are no longer active.

| The Creative Industries Network fostered communities across four areas of expertise: The Performing Arts, Design, Music, and Media and Moving image. Those objectives, being achieved, the Network is no longer active within the WestFocus context. However, the DesignPlus activity web site can still be reached at www.designplus.org.uk |

| The Health Network brought together a number of diverse activities connected with Health and Well-being. Its aim was to raise the level of health and well-being in the area by improving the range and take up of well-being products and services offered. Having successfully achieved those objectives the Network is no longer active. |

| The ICT Network drew on the wide-ranging expertise of WestFocus researchers, working with small-to-medium-sized companies and healthcare providers to help them to make the best practical use of leading-edge ICT and software technologies. Having achieved those aims the Network is no longer active within the WestFocus portal. |

| The Life Sciences Network was set up to capitalise on the excellent research base across the partner institutions. It brought together industry, community and academic partners to discuss issues that affected Life Science research and development activities. The Network is now closed. |

| The Materials and Manufacturing Network brought together a broad spectrum of expertise in the areas of synthesis and formulation of functional materials, biomaterials, advanced analytical techniques for materials racterisation, and materials processing. Having successfully achieved those original aims the Network is no longer active. |

| The Social Inclusion Network acquired substantial experience of transferring knowledge to voluntary, community and public organisations that work with socially-excluded groups. The Network having successfully achieved its original goals is no longer active within the WestFocus context. |

| The Sustainability Network was very active, for several years, bringing together academics and industrialists to formulate a practical approach to the challenges of particular sustainability issues both within business and the wider community.Having fulfilled its original brief and objectives, the Network is no longer in operation. |
