KTP / STEP

If you are a business looking for help with a project, process or a campaign, STEP student placements, which normally take place over the summer vacation or other short-term options, can be a good starting point. A year out placement may be more suitable if you have a more substantial body of work for a student, whilst the Knowledge Transfer Partnerships (KTP) scheme for graduates may be appropriate if you require specialist input over a longer period.

KTPs - formerly Teaching Company Scheme  - are part-DTI funded programmes to help companies access the wealth of knowledge, expertise and resources available in universities to develop new products, services and processes. KT Partnerships support companies by providing funding (up to 60% of costs), project management and training to facilitate the transfer of knowledge and technology from the university.
