WestFocus has developed a series of Learning Games to assist in teaching the principles of entrepreneurship. One series of games is PC-based, and offers the opportunity to simulate running various businesses - the winners being those who aviod bankruptcy and make the most money. Each game comes on a separate CD-ROM, and can be saved at any point thus enabling each player to continue at their own pace. Each game runs a different type of business in accelerated time. Each game can be purchased from the WestFocus Knowledge Exchange.
The series of Board Games allows multiple players to play in teams to compete against each other. MarketPlace is the first available board game, and can be purchased (in boxes of 10) from the WestFocus Knowledge Exchange.

The Apprentice Entrepreneur: E-Trader The first release in the 'Apprentice Entrepreneur' series of PC-based computer games is called 'E-Trader' - and is available now. Developed to assist in the teaching of entrepreneurial skills, users get the chance to run their own internet based retailing business for 6 months (in accelerated time), setting up a web site, controlling stock and order fulfillment, and most important of all managing your cash-flow. Game play extends to between 6 - 12 hours, depending whether you avoid going bankrupt too many times.

The Apprentice Entrepreneur: DJ Life The second game in the 'Apprentice Entrepreneaur' series is called 'DJ Life' As before, the idea behind the game is to assist in the teaching of entrepreneurial principles through gameplay. This time you're a budding DJ trying to build up a business playing in the local clubs. Decisions have to be made regarding equipment, records, advertising, negotiating gigs etc., whilst always monitoring your cash flow! An essential element of successful DJing is an ability to 'mix' the right tracks for your discerning audience. In DJ Life they quickly let you know whether you're doing a good job or not.

MarketPlace 'MarketPlace' is the first of a series of the Knowledge Exchange Entrepreneurship Centre board games developed to assist in the teaching of business principles to budding entrepreneurs. Two teams, one team 'selling' an on-line restaurant reservation system - the other team as potential 'buyers' of the service. The game helps develop those negotiating skills required to raise/overcome objections. At the half way point the two teams swap roles, and attempt the opposite transaction.
